How to Annotate an Image like a Pro!!! for Free

If you’re a PM(Product Manager) or you want to mention a part of image to discuss, Annotation tools are really helpful. Today we are going to discuss free and powerfull annotation tool. Lets jump right in.

  1. Install Zoho Annotator from chrome
  2. click on the extension button and tap pin button for easier access while working

3. After pinning the extension, tap Zoho Annotator icon in browser and click “Open Blank Editor”. You’ll will redirect to zoho annotator editing page. Capturing tools are self explanatory.

4. Upload an image to edit or paste the image that you’ve copied to edit.

5. you can see editing tools placed in left of the window. I will explain this one by one.

6. click “highlighting tools” icon, you can see three options. rectangle, ellipse, free form.

7. rectangle option — by clicking on the img and draging based on your need. shift and drag for square markup.

8. ellipse option — by clicking on the img and draging based on your need. shift and drag for circular markup.

9. More options are available in top center of the page for adjusting the markup line thickness, filling color in the area, changing the color of markup line.

10. free form — if you want to underline a line or select a part in free form.

11. click the mouse icon for rearranging the markup.

12. if you created a markup by mistake, press esc and select the markup and press delete.

13. Highlighter pen, Arrow & Line and Text are self explainable.

14. Moving on to tagging tools, you’ll four options. Numbering, Right, Wrong, questing tags.

15. Numbering tag will be useful when you want to describe it in sequence. click on the image sequentially to describe. if you’ve click by mistake in wrong place, you can delete by pressing esc and delete. By the way, these numbers are editable

16. Right and Wrong tags are self explainable.

17. if you have doubt in that line while checking the image use question tag to mark as “not clarifying”.

18. Now, comes my favourite tool, Concealing tool. you can blur the part of image that you dont want to show. Moreover, you’ve an option to free form blur.

19. Next Crop tool, cropping tools lets you to crop particular part of the page.

20. if you don’t like the markups you’ve done, you can do reset markup by clicking top right of the window and start from scratch.

21. After doing all the annotating work, click done.

22. If you don’t want to download the image and share it. you can just copy the img by clicking “copy image” and paste it wherever you want.

23. You can download the image and you can save to cloud by click “Upload to Drive”. You will see a pop up showing connect Zoho Workdrive, Google Drive, OneDrive, DropBox. Connect your favorite drive and start saving your annotations.

24. There is one more option “Get a link to share”. But you need Zoho Workdrive account, if you want this option, you can create your account in just few steps. Then your annotated image will be stored in Zoho Workdrive and you’ll get a link to share with your colleagues or friends.
